Keywords: Project Management - Operations Management
Profile: Production Operations Manager in a Modernization Project for warships, I am currently based in Jeddah. Working with demanding Saudi Clients and Subcontractors in a complex industrial environment proves to be an extremely fruitful experience despite the ethics, financial and logistical downsides related to this job. Before the major Oil Price Crisis, which ended my consultant contract end of 2015, I worked as Operations Manager in Africa (Congo). During two years, I was involved in MOHO NORD, a major Offshore Oilfield development project. I supervised the Umbilical Flow lines and Risers (UFR) subsea/onshore construction operations executed by our contractor, ensuring they were performed in line with contractual specifications. I managed all the onshore/offshore project teams operating on the various sites, and also controlled that all upstream installation engineering pertaining to the construction scope was properly performed and fit for purpose. The whole MOHO NORD project represented a 10 Bn$ investment, of which the UFR Package’s operations I oversaw amounted to 1,5 Bn $. I previously held a position of Chief Operating Officer (#2) of a medium size company (approx 1000 people), specialized in high-tech piping primarily operating in the Nuclear Industry. In this role, I was in charge of all the operational activities of the company and accountable for their consolidated P&L to the CEO. Although an exciting and challenging position, the very franco-french business environment of the Company combined with a confined provincial social life was not fulfilling my career aspirations. I was therefore looking for a more international and dynamic professional horizon, similar to the one I had experienced in the Navy or the Oil and Gas business where I worked before. My value added comes from the strong Project Management skills I earned in the Oil & Gas and the Nuclear Industry. My engineering training, complemented with an MBA, and a long experience in lead
