Overview
URGENT: Need expressions of interest Immediately - This is a strategic Advisory role. A Consulting Services Company specialising in Upstream Oil and Gas seeks a Reservoir Engineer to work at an Oil Operator Site and provide reservoir engineering advice and recommendations on data gathering plan in new Unconventional and conventional wells Applicants are invited 20+ years’ experience on Reservoir engineering domain including at least 5+ years of Unconventional plays. The project will initially be for a period of 12 months but could be extended. The Company will organise all logistics such as work permits, travel and accommodation.
 
Responsibilities
The candidate will provide consultancy services in the following areas:
  • Working at the Oil Company site - provide reservoir engineering services during normal working hours from Sunday to Thursday.
  • Provide Reservoir engineering advice and recommendations on data gathering plan in new Unconventional and conventional wells.
  • Coach and mentor junior Reservoir engineering staff in the Asset Development Teams. Works with the Oil Operator Discipline Leaders to ensure functional development of seismic interpretation staff.
  • Integrate all relevant geoscience, petrophysical, and engineering data to build models with 3D Upscale of geologic and geostatistical models as appropriate
  • Construct, history match, run predictive cases, optimize investment alternative, and assist with preparation and optimization of field development plans.
  • Strong experience in PVT Characterization, SCAL and rock properties
  • Quantify reservoir risk and uncertainty and integrate them in production forecast analysis.
  • Develop and evaluate supplemental recovery concepts for unconventional resources, determine key uncertainties & develop plans for assessing them (including design for pilots/fieldtests).
  • Analyze reservoir and performance data to develop a study plan and Perform advanced reservoir-engineering studies through classical reservoir engineering, reservoir simulation, mass balance, well modeling, and PTA/RTA to support Reservoir Development/Appraisal Plans.
  • Analyzing the economics and risk assessments of major development programs.
  • Ensure that studies are fully integrated with other disciplines and that the results are used effectively and appropriately.
  • Support the Resources in assessing and booking reserves, especially Unconventional IOR/EOR related reserves.
  • Effectively communicates with management, reservoir characterization teams, engineering teams, operations teams, and other stakeholder
  • Establish and maintain dialogue on all reservoir related technical issues with other Specialists and Experts in Oil Operator and Group Companies; as well as with third parties (Shareholders, Universities, research censers) through active networking.
  • Advise on the current and future reservoir management activities and modeling activities.
  • Support Data Analytics Initiatives, opportunity identification and maturation and in monitoring and applying new technologies




 
Preferences
The successful candidate will have:
  • Degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent essential. MSc or higher desired.
  • Strong Reservoir Simulations Background essential.
  • 20+ years’ experience on Reservoir engineering domain including at least 5+ years of Unconventional plays.
  • Competency in reservoir engineering software essential. (e.g. Petrel, Eclipse…)
  • Strong Delivery focus essential – can deliver high quality study within specified timeline.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills is a must.
  • Previous experience in the Middle East advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal skills –ability to relay technical knowledge and concepts in a coherent and friendly manner.
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English essential. Arabic advantageous
 
Other Information
Package: A competitive Day Rate is on offer dependent on skills and experience. In addition, accommodation and per diem provided. Accommodation is serviced apartment with cable/internet. Flight by economy premium where possible. The Company will manage all of the logistics involved.
