Overview
A leading global Services Company in the Oil and Gas industry seeks a Technical Sales Advisor to support their Drilling and Completions Technology sales. Working with the Sales Account, Services and Research and Development Teams, you will provide technical expertise and insight into areas of Well Construction, Real-Time operations and Digital solutions and help drive sales. Applicants, based in Europe, are invited with a background in drilling or real time solutions – this could be in pre/post sales, consultancy services, or in supporting relevant technologies. The key is a strong understanding of either discipline combined with a desire to take on a more commercial/advisory role. Working across Eurasia, Europe and Sub-Saharan Region (EESSA), you will be based in Europe with travel (maximum 60%). The role offers great scope for travel, high earnings and an exciting career!

Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Reporting to the Industry Solution Advisor Drilling & Completion your primary responsibilities will be to:
  • Become knowledgeable in the Company’s technologies and services.
  • Understand the challenges and drivers within the market and how the Company’s solutions can help address these.
  • Develop relationships with customers and vendors to better understand customer needs and expand the reach of possible solutions.
  • Build good working relationships with your peers and across the wider company matrix organization.
  • Support E&P Well Construction, Real-Time and Digital solutions business development for EESSA region.
  • Assist in defining, positioning and marketing Well Construction and Real-Time solutions in the region.
  • Providing thought leadership as it pertains to the technical aspects of proposed software/services solutions for each individual customer.
  • Analyse the customer environment, discover and diagnose a system or business problem.
  • Work with the customer and internal teams to create detailed workflow solutions.
  • Prepare the technical presentations and the tender response during pre-qualification and tender submission phases in order to ensure that the proposed solution fully meet with technical targets and Company standards.
  • Prepare Technical proposals and solutions in order to ensure that they meet customer requirements.
  • Function as a liaison between the customer and the product development team to drive product innovation and quality - provision of competitive analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Responsible for development of cross-domain workflow using Real-Time and Analytical solutions
  • Assist clients with development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and tracking of the same to ensure operational gains & cost effectiveness across the entire well lifecycle
  • Assist clients with development and monitoring of QA/QC standards for their operational and Real-Time data.
  • Analysing E&P well construction performance data, including: confirming the validity of data, organizing and categorizing, trend analysis, and problem causality identification;
  • Analysing the applicability of new or innovative data processes and systems as a part of the overall well construction process.
  • Participate in public Technology Days, Trade Shows and customer specific Lunch and Learns throughout the year, showcasing new functionality and key regional capabilities.
  • Actively participate in highlighting innovation with White Papers and industry publications individually and co –authored material.
  • Keep abreast of new oilfield technologies and digital solutions in the market – become competent discussing these with clients with the ability and confidence to highlight advantages of the Company’s solutions.
 
Preferences



Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s engineering degree desired, preferably Petroleum Engineering.
  • European based essential – preference for Netherlands/Rijswijk, UK/London/Aberdeen, Romania/Bucharest, Poland/Warsaw.
  • Minimum 8 years Oil & Gas industry experience in Drilling or/and Real-Time operations essential.
  • Technically competent to deliver synergistic technical solutions showcasing the value of Real-Time and Analytical solutions around Well Construction.
  • Experience working with, supporting or selling Drilling and Completion solutions highly desired (e.g. Landmark, Weatherford, BakerHughes, Schlumberger, Petrolink…).
  • Consultative approach desired - the ability to devise complex, high capital winning solutions for clients highly desired.
  • General all round subsurface technical expertise essential – e.g. expertise of exploration and production data management, data architecture, database engineering capabilities, knowledge of geosciences AND/OR drilling engineering and production highly desired.
  • High interest in technology and its deployment essential.
  • The technical aptitude to grasp quickly the challenges and rewards of leading edge technologies and the ability to engage, champion and influence sales.
  • Understanding of Analytics concepts (reporting, dashboarding, charting, real time) desired.
  • Experience of Front end analytics toolkit skills (spotfire, Tableu, qlikview) desired.
  • Awareness of advanced analytics and big data analytics concepts and how they relate to Well Construction activities desired.
  • Knowledge of KPI’s and their meaning associated with respective activities desired.
  • Understanding of data types and (real-time, relational) their uses and value desired.
  • Be a team player with good communication skills
  • Be creative and innovative problem solver - thinks conceptually and ‘out of the box’.
  • Achievement-oriented – focuses on delivering results.
  • Ability to identify and engage with key players across many sectors of your client base and to build and maintain strong working relations essential.
  • Can work effectively across the Well Construction and Real Time teams to technical advice/support as required.
  • An assertive individual with the personality and confidence to build strong relationships and gain trust.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills essential.
  • Highly methodical - ability to multi-task, prioritise requests for advisor/support.
  • Can travel as required across the ESSA region (up to 60% at times).
