Overview
A leading and well-established Information Management Company in the global oil and gas industry seeks an experienced Environmental Data Business Analyst to work at an oil operator client site for a 9 month contract. Working closely with the Business Units, you will provide advice and guidance pertaining to environmental data; its application, integration with other system, workflows, outputs etc. Applicants are invited with experience of Environmental Data, Emissions and/or Methane Data with the ability to provide advice and project manage some ongoing projects - experience of Esri based GIS systems required. Working at an oil operator site for 9 months, you will actively seek to improve environmental data insights and workflows and processes. Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Working as part of a Team at an oil operator site, you will:
  • Become knowledgeable in the Company’s processes, workflows and technical applications pertaining to Environmental Data users.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the Business Units in a wide range of matters pertaining to Environmental Data, Emissions and/or Methane Data.
  • Share your knowledge and understanding of the standard technologies used for measuring in this space.
  • Use Geospatial tools to display and analyse data.
  • Act as subject matter expert for several ongoing projects
  • Provide programme management to some ongoing/new projects.
  • Actively seek to improve data insights and understanding of environmental data.
  • Working with the business units, create innovative solutions to improve analytics, understanding, processes, workflows, best practices and overall service delivery.
  • Challenge conventional thinking, problem solving and innovation.Geoc
  • Liaise with the Data Science and other supporting teams to explore and understand the application of environmental data in existing practices and identifying new opportunities to develop and scale solutions aligned to environmental strategies.
  • Actively communicate and promote the purpose and benefits of environmental data management and data analytics, engaging and effectively managing stakeholders.
  • Strive to deliver timely and professional services to all users and stakeholders involved in environmental data, systems and processes.
 
Preferences
Candidate Requirements:
  • Degree in an Environmental, GIS, Geographic Science, Geoscience, Computer Science, Survey Engineering discipline or in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience of Environmental Data, Emissions and/or Methane Data essential.
  • Ability to be a “subject matter expert” for several ongoing projects essential.
  • Knowledge of standard technologies used for measuring in this space essential.
  • Ability to use Geospatial tools to display and analyse data essential. Experience of Esri based GIS systems required.
  • An understanding of Geospatial data formats (shape file, geodatabase, raster, tabular, tin, etc.), desired.
  • Previous experience working with /supporting Engineering and Geoscience users in geospatial / environmental data and practices highly desired.
  • Good analytical abilities and reporting skills essential.
  • Good programme and project management skills essential.
  • Some experience in the Oil and Gas industry highly advantageous.
  • The aptitude to grasp changing technologies quickly and the ability to engage, champion the benefits and deliver effective support that meets buiness needs and expectations essential.
  • Confident client facing skills – ability to engage, win trust, understand and document requirements and articulate technical solutions in a coherent and friendly manner, is key.
  • Must be both a good team player and at the same time self-motivated and capable of working unsupervised
  • Excellent project management skills essential, with the ability to prioritise competing demands across many stakeholders.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills essential; must be able to convey information in a clear manner.
  • Highly flexible – ability to adapt to new project challenges and prioritise workloads.

Other Information
Package: Payment of equivalent to £400 per day may be made under a PAYE or PSE (Personal Service Company) arrangement – to be discussed/confirmed.
