Overview
A leading global Services Company in the Oil and Gas industry seeks a Full Stack Web Developer for a Team Lead role. You will lead the technical execution of digitalization strategies for major oil operator clients. Applicants invited with strong full stack web development combined with desired team lead or supervisor experience. The deployment of technologies across all sectors of the upstream industry has been highly evident in recent years - from greater optimisation in the field, real-time centres, predictive maintenance, cloud solutions, big data analytics, transaction based software and much more.

The Company is actively working with their global client base in the deployment of their main point technologies to Cloud and office based solutions. This role offers the opportunity to get involved in some exciting capital intensive projects with major global oil operators, as they progress in their digital transformation journey.
 
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Project Manager your primary responsibilities will be to:
  • Become aware of the Company’s technologies and associated services, practices etc. Training provided.
  • Build good working relationships with your regional peers.
  • Lead the technical execution of Digitalization strategy, spanning web products, micro-services, integration, data analytics, testing, and automation
  • Establish relationships of trust with the project team and R&D to deliver on the cutting edge web architecture to quickly ship new features into production at scale
  • Develop and maintain web framework to serve the needs of different areas of the business and user personas
  • Implement new logging, data collection, and storage architectures to support our voracious appetite for data and data-driven insights
  • Own web based application development projects from backend to the presentation layer
  • Work through a variety of technical challenges that will require creativity and close collaboration across internal functions
  • Own the deployment process
  • Release early, release often (Agile implementation)
  • Participate in Lessons Learned
 
Preferences
The successful candidate will have:
  • Computer Science degree preferred but not required
  • Strong experience working in a modern commercial web development environment essential. Preferably with 5+ years.
  • Must have proven deliverables to demonstrate/discuss essential.
  • Previous Team Lead or Supervisor expertise desired. The Company may be open to someone with strong full stack development looking for career progression and ambition to move to this level.
  • Familiar with most of the following essential: Angular JS 2.0 or higher, SQL Server, Oracle, Node.js, Nginx, Git, Redis, Bash, Nagios, Solr
  • Proficiency using HTML/CSS/Javascript/AJAX essential
  • Solid understanding of the full web technology stack essential (e.g. HTTP, cookies, asset loading, caching, REST)
  • Past experience or familiarity with architectural patterns of large, high-scale web or mobile applications
  • Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities
  • Rigor in unit testing, test coverage, and other web best practices essential
  • Analytical and strong quantitative skills essential – experience combining code and maths desired.
  • An understanding of the b2b cloud based hosting desired.
  • Experience working in, or familiarity with oil and gas operations, technologies or workflows highly desired.
  • Strong team player, able to work with distributed global teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to handle various priorities and work in a fast paced environment
  • An assertive individual with the personality and confidence to build strong relationships.
  • A strong appreciation of stakeholder relationships.
