Overview
A leading and well-established Information Management Company in the global oil and gas industry seeks a Well Data Manager to work at one of their Oil Client sites to deliver well and seismic data management services. In this role, you will provide support to the geoscience subsurface user communities in the day-to-day well data operations. Applicants are invited with 10+ years’ experience in upstream oil and gas, a strong background in Schlumberger Petrel Data Management combined with experience in supporting well data operations. The Company would prefer someone to join full term but they are also open to a Fixed Term Engagement to the end of the year.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Working as part of the Professional Service Team, you will:
  • Become competent in the Company’s processes, workflows and technical solutions.
  • Deliver outstanding professional services to the Oil Client’s User Communities – ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Become a Go-To-Person for well and seismic data activities.
  • Undertake a host of Well Data Management tasks such as:
    • Data Quality Audit and Improvement
    • Data Project and Repository Management
    • Data Requirements for Technology Updates
    • Data Standards and Best Practice
    • User Support for Data and Information Issues
    • Disk usage and monitoring
  • Seek to gain and share knowledge, experience and best practice demonstrating learning, growth and enhanced competency, and encouraging others to do so.
  • Strive to raise awareness and reputation of the Company across the Client contacts - nurture and develop contacts.
 
Preferences

Candidate Requirements:
  • A degree in an Earth Science subject preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years upstream (Exploration and Production) oil and gas industry experience essential
  • Strong expertise of well data management essential must have – knowledge of well data (reports, logs), drilling process (drilling tools and products\data produced at each stage of the well), ability to browse through listings of data to identify needed data and file it in the right location, ability to distinguish between pre-drill, drilling and post-drill data and reports and studies... 
  • Proven/demonstrable Schlumberger Petrel Data Management expertise essential. This is key! Petrel well data loading certification/training desired.
  • Background in delivering data/information management services to clients essential.
  • Team player but can work independently and effectively – the ability to manage and prioritise tasks is key.
  • Ability to plan, lead and deliver projects is key.
  • A keen interest in the evolving world of information management solutions and technologies and their deployment across the upstream oil and gas industry, essential.
  • A broad understanding of technical issues relating to the oil field life cycle essential – understanding of subsurface geology, geophysics, production desired.
  • Strong confident client facing skills – ability to engage, win trust, understand and document requirements and articulate technical solutions in a coherent and friendly manner. Ability to influence decision makers.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills - ability to develop long-standing relationships across the Client base and Company and to keep all informed of progress, problems etc.
  • An assertive individual with the personality and confidence to deliver tasks to the User Communities in a professional and timely manner.
 
Other Information
Package: A Base Salary of £55K - £65K is on offer dependent on skills and expertise. Plus Company benefits package – health insurance, life...
