Overview
Our Client who is a leading provider of information to the global Energy, Defence, Power, and the Automotive Industries seeks a Quality and Data Governance Analyst (品質とデータガバナンスのアナリスト). In this role, you will support the Global Director in the implementation of Data Quality initiatives, working to continuously improve the data quality within the department across all data types, with a focus on demonstrable value. Applicants are invited with a working knowledge of Data Governance, Information Management and Quality frameworks, ideally within the automotive industry.

Working in the automotive powertrain & compliance team, and in conjunction with business Data Owners, Data Stewards and their teams, you will help deliver continuous improvement of data and process quality.

Responsibilities
This position reports directly to the Global Director. It encompasses many functions including:
  • Become competent in the Company’s suite of solutions, services, work flows and practices.
  • Support the Global Director in implementing Data Quality initiatives, working to continuously improve the data quality within the powertrain & compliance organization across all data types, with a focus on demonstrable value.
  • Work within the automotive powertrain & compliance team, and in conjunction with business Data Owners, Data Stewards and their teams, to help deliver continuous improvement of data and process quality.
  • Provide a continuous assessment of issues, ensuring compliance to the data control framework for moving, integrating and accessing automotive data from a range of sources.
  • Provide technical and consultancy support for all data related projects, providing guidance and advice on the best quality data to use per context.
  • Promote a collaborative, cross function approach to data knowledge sharing, contributing to effective data lineage/process mapping to better inform dependent stakeholders of any potential ‘down-stream’ change/ issue impact.
  • Undertake data profiling, cleansing and data flow mapping working alone/ with stakeholders within the product line to resolve issues at or near their root.
  • Work with Data Owners and Data Stewards to design and monitor performance indicators/metrics/scorecards for information and DQ management.
  • Apply knowledge of appropriate tools and processes for automation, control, validation and reconciliation to ensure data is delivered in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring data is traceable and robust for audit.
  • Contribute to the creation, maintenance, promotion and use of metadata resources such as Data Dictionaries, Data Lineage maps, Process Flow, Master data-sets and related artefacts.
  • Be a champion and evangelist for high quality automotive powertrain information and the best use of our corporate data resources in support of business objectives.
  • Proactively identify cost-benefit justifiable improvements to data manipulation processes and/or systems, promoting data quality by design.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of documentation in support of all processes.

Working closely with IT development and regional analysts, this role will include leveraging knowledge of best practices, good judgment and analytical skills to discover issues, communicate, monitor and manage them to meet powertrain business line requirements.
 
Preferences
The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science desired.
  • More than 3 years’ experience OR Data Governance, Information Management and Quality frameworks, Data Quality processes and accompanying technology essential.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry, in particular technical data and terminology surrounding powertrain systems is highly desirable.
  • Functional knowledge and experience of using tools for data analysis (e.g. Excel , SQL and/or VBA) essential.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills essential.
  • Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills, with proficiency in MS Office. High work ethic and ability to work to tight deadlines

Other Information
Package: A Base Salary of circa JPY 6,000,000 is on offer dependant on skills and experience.
