Overview
On behalf of our Energy Client who is also a leading provider of information to the global Defence, Power, and the Automotive Industries we seek a Senior Analyst (シニアリサーチアナリスト) to be responsible for developing new forecasts on automotive interior, lighting and electronic systems. These forecasts will be based on original research conducted and supported by the Company’s proprietary data/tools. Applicants are invited with a proven understanding of automotive supplier trends and OEM technology strategies in passive safety, interior comfort, lighting and electronics.

The Company is a recognised leading provider of information in the global market and economy, and has operated for many decades across a wide range of industries. They are considered globally as a leading supplier of information and intelligence.

The role encompasses a mix of qualitative and quantitative research, trend forecasting as well as strategy analysis of technology strategies and supply chain research. You will also support the delivery of current and new services around domains such as passive safety, interior comfort, and lighting which support clients in Japan and globally

 
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: Reporting to Research and Analysis Director this role encompasses many functions including:
  • Become competent in the Company’s suite of solutions, services, work flows and practices.
  • Develop new forecasts on interior, lighting, electronic systems. These forecasts based on original research conducted and supported by the Company’s proprietary data/tools.
  • Maintain databases which track automotive technologies and supplier information.
  • Nurture a network of contacts at automotive companies
  • Project work involvement, including cross-regional and cross-team projects as needed.
  • Support clients on a daily basis. Undertake frequent client presentations
  • Support business development activities as well as the wider offerings of the team (as required from time to time).
  • Keep abreast of industry and business trends, players, competitors and new technologies.
 
Preferences
Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
  • Proven understanding of automotive supplier trends and OEM technology strategies in passive safety, interior comfort, lighting and electronics essential.
  • Engineering background is highly desirable.
  • Previous research/data analysis experience essential.
  • An understanding of research processes and ability to interpret complex industry data and information
  • Ability to visualize and compile large sets of data into a clear and useable format essential.
  • Strong Microsoft office skills essential. An understanding of database mechanics (i.e. Access, SQL) highly desired.
  • Strong network of connections within the automotive industry essential.
  • An interest/passion for cars desired
  • Excellent analytical, writing and presentation skills.
  • High work ethic and ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with executive level clients and colleagues. The ability to initiate and develop productive business relationships.
  • Proven ability to communicate technical issues (both verbally and in writing) to non-technical personnel.
  • An enthusiastic and creative problem solver with the ability to handle questions and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail. Ensuring accuracy and high quality in all your work. Continuously strive for improvement.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and keep focused on their ultimate objectives. Be able to be flexible with time demands dependant on requirements.
  • Time management skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines and expectations.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English essential
 
Other Information

Package: An attractive base salary of circa JPY 6,500,000 is on offer dependant on skills and experience.
