Interested in TAX FREE Role? A major global petrochemical manufacturing company seeks an RBI Engineer to establish and implement a Risk Based Inspection program in all production units. Your main focus will be on MTBE, EDC, Ethyl Benzene, Styrene, Ethylene, utility and Salt plants. Applicants invited with a relevant degree with a minimum of 10 years’ RBI experience within oil and gas or petrochemical. It is envisaged that you will have experience using Meridium software. Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential permanent role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 58.

With offices and manufacturing plants spread across 6 continents, the Company is one of the largest global petrochemical organisations. They manufacture petrochemical products for a wide range of industries including construction, healthcare, agriculture, industrial and automotive.

Jubail is a large industrial city located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Persian Gulf. It is within easy reach of Dammam and Al Khobar and you can easily visit both Bahrain and Kuwait.

This is a residential position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 – 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days) which provide ample time to visit family. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.
You will be responsible for:
  • Planning, establishing and implementing Risk Based Inspection program in all the production units of MTBE, EDC, Ethyl Benzene, Styrene, Ethylene, utility and Salt plant.
  • Coordinating with section heads to organize the RBI team, conducting front-end Corrosion Engineering and data gathering workshops prior to the commencement of RBI analysis.
  • Carrying out external, internal and on-stream inspection of static equipment / piping for their health assessment.
  • Health assessment of ethylene cracking furnaces tubes and other parts using various NDTs like VT, UT, DPT, RT etc.
  • Corrosion Monitoring, performing failure investigations, root cause analysis (RCA) and Metallurgical Analysis.
  • Execution RBI program using API-580 guidelines, developing the plant integrity assurance manual (PIAM)
  • Formulating Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field.
The successful candidate will have
  • Batchelor’s degree in a relevant subject essential. Masters or PhD preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ RBI experience within oil and gas or petrochemical essential.
  • Understanding of API-580 essential.
  • Previous experience with corrosion monitoring and RCA essential.
  • Strong background in using Meridium software essential.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
  • Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
  • Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures. The ability to present results to stakeholders is key.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships.
