Overview
Interested in TAX FREE Role? A major global petrochemical manufacturing company seeks a Sustainability and Energy Engineer to support operating units to meet sustainability and energy targets. You will be responsible for identifying and developing sustainability and energy improvement opportunities. Applicants invited with a degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in energy sustainability and the ability to write procedures and policies. Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential permanent role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 58.
With offices and manufacturing plants spread across 6 continents, the Company is one of the largest global petrochemical organisations. They manufacture petrochemical products for a wide range of industries including construction, healthcare, agriculture, industrial and automotive.
Jubail is a large industrial city located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Persian Gulf. It is within easy reach of Dammam and Al Khobar and you can easily visit both Bahrain and Kuwait.
This is a residential position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 – 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days) which provide ample time to visit family. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Identifying and developing sustainability and energy improvement opportunities.
Supporting unit operations to meet targets. Fulfilling your duties as per Company requirements.
Tracking actions and projects initiated to meet the targets.
Reporting sustainability and energy status for operating units regularly.
Improving sustainability and energy awareness and knowledge.
Leading Process Safety Review meetings, contributing technical inputs and knowledge as required.
Providing guidance and support to achieve site sustainability and energy targets.
Providing country support to the PMT for identifying and developing sustainability and energy improvement opportunities.
Actively participate in achieving sustainability and energy targets.
Keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field.
Preferences
The successful candidate will have
Batchelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering essential. Masters or PhD preferred.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in experience in the area of energy sustainability essential.
Experience of MEMS-06.08 & MEMS-06.09 highly desired.
Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
An understanding of budgets essential.
Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
Ability to prepare and write procedures and policies to be distributed Company-wide.
Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures. The ability to present results to stakeholders is key.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships
