Overview
URGENT: An Oil and Gas Super Major seeks a Project Manager to define the risks, tasks and artefacts for a modernization and transformation project. Applicants are invited with strong project management experience in Information Technologies combined with a PMP certification. Experience of delivering projects for Major Capital Projects is highly desirable. This is an exciting short-term contract which is to run for a minimum of 3 months, focusing on the “Define Phase” of the project. Dependant on the scope of work, there may be potential for extension.

The O&G client is in the midst of modernising and transforming many aspects of their Upstream IT and Service operations. Their strategic vision is to become a data-driven and digital organization, streamlining their processes and data making them readily available across any device to meet changing business needs in this low oil price environment.






 
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: This role encompasses many functions including:
  • Understanding the project lifecycle and the methodologies deployed.
  • Defining the risks, artefacts and tasks in the DEFINE phase business case which will show the business value in progressing with the 6 M&T milestones:
Reporting & Visualization
o Project Delivery Environment (PLM i.e. Project Lifecycle Management)
o Smart Construction including 4D/5D modelling
o Project ERP Interface
o Process Automation
o Collaborative Contracting
  • Defining the Governance and Oversight required to ensure continued project lifecycle efficiency.
  • Ensuring that you maintain relations with all stakeholders to ensure they support the streamlined and signed-off business case
 
Preferences
Preferences: The successful candidate will have:
  • PMP certification essential. CVP (Appraise, Select, Define, Execute, Operate) is of key interest.
  • Strong Project Management capabilities essential. Experience working at a strategic level across a product lifecycle desired. Good understand of all aspects of a Define Phase essential.
  • Previous experience working on an IT&S “Modernization and Transformation” project highly desired.
  • Portfolio understanding of some of the IT applications and infrastructure deployed across upstream oil and gas essential.
  • Experience working on oil and gas Major Capital Projects desired. Ability to share and leverage previous high level expertise desired.
  • Diplomatic with the ability to engage with a large number of stakeholders to drive toward consensus.
  • Consultative and collaborative mind-set with an emphasis on delivering high quality, on budget projects.
  • Highly motivated individual who can manage their own time and deliver to tight project deadlines.
  • Highly analytical/methodical – the ability to understand the problem, the tools available and to deliver the solution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – the ability to interact effectively across all stakeholders.
  • Excellent communications skills essential (both written and oral English), with the ability to present findings
