Overview
Interested in TAX FREE Role? A major global petrochemical manufacturing company seeks a Reformer Process Expert to provide Process Expertise relevant to Reformers in order to achieve best in class performance in the areas of EHSS, Cost, Reliability, Energy Efficiency, and capacity utilization across all plants utilizing Syngas Reformers globally. Applicants invited with a degree in Chemical Engineering combined with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the area of syngas reforming process technical support. Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential permanent role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 58.

With offices and manufacturing plants spread across 6 continents, the Company is one of the largest global petrochemical organisations. They manufacture petrochemical products for a wide range of industries including construction, healthcare, agriculture, industrial and automotive.

Riyadh is the capital and most populous city of Saudi Arabia. It is situated in the center of the Arabian Peninsula on a large plateau and home to more than six million people.

This is a residential permanent position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 – 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days). The Company will provide accommodation for single or family status in a secure compound. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.
 
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for:
  • Conducting required studies to achieve higher potential for energy efficiency by revamping of ageing reformers.
  • Building knowledge base for future syngas reforming technologies including feedstock flexibility through advanced catalyst and advance Tube Metallurgy.
  • Working with the various Polyolefin Expert Teams and Affiliates to achieve best possible yield.
  • Developing Best Practices and Manufacturing Standards that improves performance globally.
  • Developing performance KPIs and working with Affiliates to track the performance globally and as necessary, developing improvement recommendations.
  • Working with the Polyolefin Expert Groups to develop strategic alliance with OEMs for technological strength, handling complexity and Operational Excellence including revamps and bottlenecks.
  • Supporting the development of Company own Technology.
  • Participating in benchmarking activities in the areas of Reformers and setting performance improvement recommendations. Also, working as a consultant to Affiliates to check and qualify gap closing actions.
  • Supporting all networking activities emerging from the Reformers Expert Group and Process Support.
  • Disseminating knowledge and expertise to Affiliates personnel through training, troubleshooting and various networking activities.
  • Participating in complex RCAs in Reformers area in specific and process area in general.
  • Resolving Reformers related Performance killers, chronic issues and MSR (Manufacturing Support Requests).
  • Keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field.
 
Preferences
Preferences: The successful candidate will have
  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering essential.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in experience in the area of syngas reforming process technical support essential.
  • Qualification in conducting Energy study and plant overall simulation.
  • Previously worked with more than one reformer design and plant essential.
  • Previously participated in plant wide TA planning, optimizing and execution.
  • Previously participated in RCAs and HAZOP reviews and qualified/certified in both.
  • Previously conducted multiple energy studies.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
  • Competent with the ability to lead a team of discipline engineers and provide engineering support.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
  • Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
  • Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures. The ability to present results to stakeholders is key.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships
 
Other Information
Package: A highly attractive Tax Free salary is on offer dependent on skills and experience.
