Overview
Interested in TAX FREE Role? A major global petrochemical manufacturing company seeks an Olefin Process Expert to provide Process Expertise relevant to Olefins plant in order to achieve best in class performance in the areas of EHSS, Cost, Reliability, Energy Efficiency, Yield and capacity utilization across Company Olefins plants globally. The Company’s Olefin plants process a variety of feedstocks from Ethane to Heavy liquids. Applicants invited with a degree in Chemical Engineering combined with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the area of Olefin Plant process and operational technical support.Experience of Gas Phase Extrusion Technologies are highly desired, especially experience in Kobe or other gas phase equipment manufacturers. Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential permanent role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 58.

Riyadh is the capital and most populous city of Saudi Arabia. It is situated in the center of the Arabian Peninsula on a large plateau and home to more than six million people.

This is a residential permanent position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 – 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days). The Company will provide accommodation for single or family status in a secure compound. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.
 
Responsibilities
Responsibilities: You will be responsible for:
  • Building a knowledge base for Future Technologies related to Olefins manufacturing like OTC / OCT and Feedstock Flexibility through Advanced Catalytic Olefins technology and others.
  • Actively participate in the Company’s Olefins Expert Group and use it to enhance knowledge sharing.
  • Working with the Olefins Expert Group and Affiliates to achieve best possible yield, Productivity, Reliability, Energy Efficiency.
  • Developing Best Practices and Manufacturing Standards that contains technical know-how aiming to improve Olefins plant performance globally. The technical content of the best practices and Manufacturing Standards should be up-to-date.
  • Developing Olefins Plant performance KPIs and working with Affiliates to track the performance globally and as necessary, developing improvement recommendations.
  • Working with the Olefin Expert Group to develop strategic alliance with Licensors, vendors and OEMs for technological strength, handling complexity and Operational Excellence including revamps and bottlenecks.
  • Participating in benchmarking activities relevant to Olefins and setting performance improvement recommendations. Also, working as a consultant to Affiliates to check and qualify gap closing actions.
  • Supporting all networking activities emerging from the Extrusion Expert Group and Process Domain.
  • Disseminating knowledge and expertise to Affiliates personnel through training, troubleshooting and various networking activities.
  • Participating in complex RCAs, Maturity Assessment and Cold Eye Reviews relevant to Olefins in specific and process area in general.
  • Developing Olefin related Performance Killers, chronic issues and MSRs.
  • Providing innovative solutions to chronic issues.
  • Participating in grass roots and debottlenecking project technology selection.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field.

 
Preferences
Preferences: The successful candidate will have
  • Batchelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering essential.
  • Qualification in conducting Energy study and plant overall simulation. essential.
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in experience in the area of Olefin Plant process technical support essential.
  • Experience of Gas Phase Extrusion Technologies are highly desired, especially experience in Kobe or other gas phase equipment manufacturers.
  • Previous experience working with more than one plant design and plant essential.
  • Previously conducted multiple energy studies essential.
  • Previously participated in plant wide TA planning, optimizing and execution.
  • Previously participated in RCAs and HAZOP reviews and qualified/certified in both.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
  • Competent with the ability to lead a team of discipline engineers and provide engineering support.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
  • Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
  • Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures. The ability to present results to stakeholders is key.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships

 
Other Information
Package: A highly attractive Tax Free salary is on offer dependent on skills and experience.
