Overview
Interested in TAX FREE salary ? A major global petrochemical manufacturing company seeks a Welding and Materials Expert to be the Metallurgical/Welding/Failure Analysis Subject Matter Expert for the Company. Working in the Manufacturing Asset Technology Centre, you will work closely with Site Manufacturing, Maintenance & Technical departments, business units and business functions. Applicants invited with a strong mechanical engineering background combined with certifications in API 510, 570 571 and 653. Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential permanent role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 58. As a senior level role, a commensurable salary is on offer.

With offices and manufacturing plants spread across 6 continents, the Company is one of the largest global petrochemical organisations. They manufacture petrochemical products for a wide range of industries including construction, healthcare, agriculture, industrial and automotive.

Jubail is a large city located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Persian Gulf and is easily accessible to Bahrain and Al Khobar.

This is a residential permanent position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 – 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days). The Company will provide accommodation for single or family status in a secure compound. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.



 
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
  • Independently delivering technical support to all the businesses in areas relevant to your specialty.
  • Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the team, develop and deliver strategies relevant to your specialty and achieve business goals for Environment Health Safety Security (EHSS), process safety, containment and reliability.
  • Developing, implementing and sustaining relevant standards to reflect changes in the codes which achieve business goals for asset integrity and delivers new, modified or repaired equipment to the required engineering standards.
  • Developing and delivering input within your scope to Procurement, Mega Projects etc to ensure that new, modified and repaired equipment meet standards.
  • Developing and maintaining relevant standards. Reviewing/approval of relevant Procedures.
  • Providing problem solving/failure analysis capabilities to emerging technical issues on your specialty.
  • Developing and sustaining links within appropriate industry organizations - keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field.
 
Preferences

The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline essential.
  • A minimum of 15 years in a similar role within the petrochemical industry essential
  • Recognized International / European Certification in your field desired.
  • Strong, detailed knowledge of petrochemical processes and equipment, materials & welding, damage mechanisms, failure analysis and engineering codes and standards in order to deliver the role effectively essential.
  • Background knowledge of relevant codes and standards and be a recognized authority on your specialty.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
  • Competent with the ability to lead a team of discipline engineers and provide engineering support.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
  • Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
  • Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships
 
Other Information
Package: A highly attractive Tax Free salary is on offer dependent on skills and experience. In addition, a full Ex-Pat package for single or family status is available including housing, transport, 2 flights home per year, health and dental insurance 22-28 days holiday plus all Saudi national holidays which are circa 10-14 days.
