Interested in a Tax Free Role? A major global petrochemical manufacturing company seeks an Inspection Expert to provide engineering support to inspection and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) activities in all Company affiliates. This will include thickness monitoring, Nondestructive Testing (conventional and advanced), internal and external inspections, and general area inspections.Working in the Manufacturing Asset Technology Centre, you will work closely with Site Manufacturing, Maintenance & Technical departments, business units and business functions. You will be responsible for developing strategic inspection programs by equipment family or by product/process. Applicants invited with a strong mechanical engineering background combined with certifications in API 510, 570 571 and 653 plus Level 3 in American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).

Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential permanent role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 58.

Jubail is a large city located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Persian Gulf and is easily accessible to Bahrain and Al Khobar.

This is a residential permanent position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 – 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days). The Company will provide accommodation for single or family status in a secure compound. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.

You will be responsible for:
  • Supporting affiliates inspection and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) activities in the construction, maintenance, inspection and safe operation of fixed equipment.
  • Providing technical support of inspection and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) activities, including:
    • Developing repair designs or strategies.
    • Redesigning existing equipment.
    • Identifying the correct Nondestructive Testing (NDT) technique.
    • Reviewing, analysing and approving inspection and Nondestructive Testing (NDT) reports.
    • Challenging and qualifying vendors.
    • Applying Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/ QC) practices.
    • Identifying improvement opportunities through internal and external networks.
  • Supporting inspection in typical areas including:
    • Metallic and non-metallic selection.
    • Paints, coatings and insulation.
    • Damage Mechanisms.
    • Failure Analysis.
    • Evaluation of existing equipment for current and new service conditions
  • Keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field
The successful candidate will have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering essential.
  • A strong mechanical engineering background essential
  • Level 3 in American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) certified in all six conventional Nondestructive Testing (NDT) techniques essential.
  • Certified in API 510, 570 571 and 653 essential. Knowledge of API 579.
  • Basic understanding of the mechanical engineering fundamentals including :
    • heat transfer
    • refractory
    • fluid dynamics
    • combustion
    • thermodynamics
    • statics
    • materials
    • strength of materials.
  • Background knowledge of all applicable codes and standards and the ability interpret and apply these codes/standards to fixed equipment.
  • Understanding of the materials degradation mechanisms and the Fixed Equipment Quality Assurance System.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
  • Competent with the ability to lead a team of discipline engineers and provide engineering support.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
  • Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
  • Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationship
Other Information
Package: A highly attractive Tax Free salary is on offer dependent on skills and experience. In addition, a full Ex-Pat package for single or family status is available including housing, transport, 2 flights home per year, health and dental insurance 22-28 days holiday plus all Saudi national holidays which are circa 10-14 days.
