Interested in a Tax Free Role? A major global petrochemical manufacturing company seeks a Rotating Equipment Engineer to work in the Asset Centre of Technology providing technical support and leading recommendations on Gearboxes, reciprocating and screw compressor drives, extruders, agitators and material handling equipment. Working in the Manufacturing Asset Technology Centre, you will work closely with Site Manufacturing, Maintenance & Technical departments, business units and business functions. Applicants invited with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in rotating equipment combined with a working knowledge of gearboxes. Working on a Tax Free, Expat residential role in an exciting and challenging role, you will be exposed to a great opportunity to develop your specific expertise working across various stakeholders on high value projects. This role is offered in adherence with Saudi Labour Law and therefore these positions are only open to Males and under the age of 58. As a senior level role, a commensurable salary is on offer.

Jubail is a large city located in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the coast of the Persian Gulf and is easily accessible to Bahrain and Al Khobar.

This is a residential permanent position (i.e. not rotational) and the Company provides 22 – 28 days holiday (depending on grade) plus you are entitled to all of the Saudi Public holidays (circa 10 - 14 days). The Company will provide accommodation for single or family status in a secure compound. They will organise all mobilisation / demobilisation transport and you will be entitled to 2 flights home per year.

Responsibilities: You will be responsible for:
  • Developing company standards on relevant areas of expertise.
  • Conducting gap assessment of performance of Gearboxes and identifying areas of focus to improve safety, reliability and availability.
  • Providing technical direction to improve availability of special purpose and general-purpose gearboxes and its associated systems across all affiliates of the Company.
  • Driving the reliability management program for gearboxes.
  • Participating in failure analysis of high risk incidents.
  • Ensuring lessons learnt from incidents is communicated to all relevant affiliates.
  • Building Relationships and partnering with Gearbox manufacturers.
  • Developing and upgrading best engineering practice documents and ensureing standardization across the Company.
  • Undertake coaching and mentoring senior engineers.
  • Initiating innovative ideas to lower the cost of ownership.
  • Keeping abreast of emerging trends and technologies within your relevant field.

Preferences: The successful candidate will have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering essential. Specialisation in gear design and/or manufacture advantageous
  • A minimum of 15 years’ experience in rotating equipment engineering essential. Hydrocarbon Industry experience highly desired.
  • Strong knowledge and hands on experience in all types of gearboxes used in large turbomachine trains, reciprocating and screw compressor drives, extruders, agitators and material handling equipment essential.
  • In depth understanding of condition monitoring technologies for above mentioned type of gearboxes. essential.
  • Experience participating in related Design/Engineering/Technical support groups with a major Gearbox OEM highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience working in Saudi or the Middle East advantageous.
  • Ability to make independent decisions in the planning, organizing and coordination of solutions to complex problems.
  • Competent with the ability to lead a team of discipline engineers and provide engineering support.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to stay abreast of new trends and technologies in your field.
  • Proactive, flexible and dedicated team player, able to achieve goals.
  • Enjoys working in a multidisciplinary team essential.
  • Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to engage and work effectively with team players from various cultures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationship
Other Information
Package: A highly attractive Tax Free salary is on offer dependent on skills and experience. In addition, a full Ex-Pat package for single or family status is available including housing, transport, 2 flights home per year, health and dental insurance 22-28 days holiday plus all Saudi national holidays which are circa 10-14 days.
